A selt portrait, done in watercolour by Luan Quach Art

Light is at the heart of my work. Through watercolor, I seek to capture not only what I see, but also the stories, dignity, and quiet hope that lie beneath the surface.

Working exclusively in watercolor, I embrace its transparency, luminosity, and spontaneity. My approach is rooted in a deep understanding of human anatomy and form. As I observe the changing planes of the human face and figure, these forms guide shifts in colour temperature and the direction of my brushwork, revealing structure, character, and emotion.

Portraiture is central to my artistic journey because every face carries a story. Beyond physical likeness, I seek to connect with each subject and understand the person behind the portrait. Through this quiet dialogue, I strive to reveal their character, emotions, and life experiences.

Whether painting a portrait, landscape, or symbolic composition, my goal is to look beyond appearance and discover the deeper meaning within each subject. I hope my work invites viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with the beauty and stories that surround us.

My Christian faith quietly shapes both my vision and my purpose. I believe beauty is a gift from God to be shared, and through my paintings I hope to help others discover light, beauty, and hope through art.

Ultimately, I paint for the good of people and the glory of God.
